Geely’s high-end NEV brand Zeekr produced 500,000 cars in 44 months in China. The 5.2-meter Zeekr 009 Grand minivan with a four-seat interior became the anniversary model.
Zeekr is a luxury NEV brand launched by Geely in 2021. Its current model line comprises seven models within a wide price range of 149,000 – 899,000 yuan (20,750 – 125,200 USD). Geely’s brand started manufacturing the first model, the 001 estate, in October 2021. It took Zeekr 37 months to manufacture the 400,000th electric car. Seven more months later, Zeekr reached the 500,000th car milestone.
The main manufacturing plant of Zeekr is located in Ningbo. However, some Zeekr-branded models are being assembled at two other Geely plants in Chengdu and Chunxiao. The brand’s core plant in Ningbo is officially called “Zeekr 5G Smart Factory”. It has a planned production volume of 300,000 vehicles. This manufacturing facility assembled the anniversary Zeekr vehicle.
The Zeekr 009 Grand luxury MPV became the 500,000th car manufactured by Geely’s high-end brand. It took 44 months to complete this goal. It means Zeekr produced around 11,364 cars monthly on average. In the last seven months, the average production volume increased to 14,286 vehicles. It is worth mentioning that the cumulative sales volume of the Zeekr brand reached 488,637 units in China, according to China EV DataTracker.
